I was raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where I attended St. James High School for two years. I later applied and was accepted into The Academy for Arts, Science and Technology, completing intensive college-level fine art and design classes. I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to Europe a number of times, and have a love for learning and experiencing different cultures. With a strong passion for advertising, and an extreme attention for detail, I draw much reference from typography and propaganda. I am pursuing a B.A. in Art with a minor in graphic design. I am currently working an internship at SPARK Strategic Ideas Agency in Charlotte where I work with companies to develop a brand, logo, social media assistance and planning events.
I was taught at a young age that every single step of a work should be able to stand alone- every step should speak for itself. Keeping this in mind, I have a love for the basic workings of a piece - from the neatness in craft, composition of a layout. While my works vary greatly in medium, size and technique, I draw much inspiration from letter forms in different fonts and sizes. The seemingly simplicity of a letter, I consider to be one of the most fascinating and complex forms that are overlooked everyday. Flipping through magazines, I find myself completely enthused and at ease with the workings of a layout, a catchy title and creative typeface.
